Music at Buckswood School
At Buckswood, students have the opportunity to develop their musical talent through high-quality instrumental tuition delivered by experienced and inspiring professional musicians. Our music provision builds confidence, creativity and technical skill, while nurturing a lifelong love of performance and artistic expression.
Music lessons are currently delivered by an exceptional team of specialist teachers:
Guitar – Phil Cosby
Phil is an acclaimed guitarist and songwriter with over 20 years of teaching experience. He covers acoustic and electric guitar across styles from folk and blues to rock, pop, funk and soul, guiding students toward their musical goals with inspiring real-world experience.
Iano & Keyboard – Holger Skepeneit
Holger, a first-class honours graduate and MMus in Jazz Piano, has performed internationally and contributed to a multi-platinum album. His lessons combine technical excellence with creativity, helping students explore music with confidence.
Saxophone & Woodwind – Jack Perry-Cockings
Jack teaches saxophone, clarinet, flute, piano and guitar. A dynamic performer at venues including Ronnie Scott’s and the Barbican, he encourages ensemble work, improvisation and performance confidence.
Violin & Fiddle – Chris Hamblin
Chris offers classical violin tuition, ABRSM exam preparation, and Celtic fiddle lessons. With 25+ years of teaching and performing, he inspires students to play with skill and expression.
Singing – Anne Rebecca Hojlund
Anne Rebecca is a classically trained soprano and experienced voice teacher. She has performed at venues including Canterbury Cathedral, Handel House Museum, and on Classic FM, and works with pupils of all ages to develop technique, expression and stage confidence.
Lessons cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced musicians, and are delivered in structured blocks of 10 to support steady progress and exam or performance preparation.
