Welcome to our GCSE programme, which begins in Form IV (Year 10). This two-year course is designed to give students a strong base in essential subjects while also allowing them to choose areas they are especially interested in.

Core Subjects

All students must study four main subjects. These are important for building basic skills and knowledge:

• English Language
• English Literature
• ESOL (international students)
• IGCSE Mathematics
• Science (Combined, Double-Award)

Choice of Subjects

Besides the main subjects, students can pick three more subjects from different groups. This choice helps students focus on what they enjoy and want to learn more about:

• Languages: Improve your skills in French or Spanish
• Humanities and Social Sciences: Learn more about History and Geography.
• Arts and Technology: Explore creativity with Art, Graphics, and ICT (Information and Communication Technology).
• Physical Education and Business Studies: Gain practical skills useful in daily life and future jobs.
• Triple Science: If you love science, this option lets you earn three separate science qualifications, great for those thinking about science in further education.

Support for Students Who Need Extra Help in English

Students who need more help with English can have special English lessons. This help makes it easier to succeed in their studies.

Continuing Native Language Studies

We also support students who want to keep improving their native language skills. We arrange special classes for this, making sure students can do well in both their native languages and their main GCSE studies.
