Celebrating Exam Success: A Hallmark of Achievement
At Buckswood, we believe that exam results are more than just grades on a piece of paper; they are a testament to hard work, resilience, and the culmination of years of learning and growth. While we emphasise a holistic education that nurtures character, creativity, and confidence, academic excellence remains at the core of what we do. We take immense pride in the success of our students – both at the school level and beyond, particularly in university achievements. These results open doors to opportunities, paving the way for futures filled with promise and potential. At Buckswood, we are proud to celebrate both the journey and the results. We are also proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our GCSE, A-Level, and IB students in 2024. These results are a testament to their hard work, resilience, and the unwavering support of our dedicated teaching staff. At GCSE level, our students demonstrated exceptional progress, with a 12% increase in Maths pass rates (9-4) reaching 76%, and 25% of students earning top grades of 9-7. Further Maths saw an impressive 83% of students achieve grades 9-7, while 85% earned the same in Art and Graphics. Our ESOL department excelled with 89% achieving grades 9-4, and the Language departments maintained their strong performance, achieving an 89% pass rate and 39% of grades at 9-7.
At A-Level, our top-performing student achieved an outstanding A*A*A*, exemplifying the dedication and ambition of Buckswood learners. Overall, our students earned remarkable results, leading to places at top universities such as Durham, Bath, Bristol, Loughborough, and Queen Mary. These achievements reflect not only their hard work but also the personalised support they received throughout their studies. Our International Baccalaureate (IB) students also performed exceptionally, with an average grade of 31 with a top grade of 36.
These results highlight the success of our holistic approach to education, combining academic rigour with a nurturing environment that empowers every student to reach their potential.
