The last summer term at Buckswood culminated in a magnificent celebration of academic excellence, with our students delivering excellent results across GCSE, A-Level, and International Baccalaureate programmes. Every cohort has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to learning, setting a high standard for the entire school community.
Our GCSE students achieved some outstanding individual results alongside remarkable collective grades. In Art and Design, one hundred percent of students achieved a grade nine and in Graphics, all students received top grades between nine and seven. Mathematics proved to be another strong point, with thirty-one percent of all grades landing in the top nine to seven tier.
Standout individual performances included Ethan, who achieved grade nines in Maths and Further Maths alongside an A* in Chinese, and Salman, who secured a grade nine in Graphics, an eight in Computer Science, and sevens across Business, Maths, and Science. Indiana matched this creativity with nines in Graphics and Art alongside sevens in both English Language and Literature, while Mayung earned grade eights in Maths, Computer Science, and French. Joe added to the success with a grade nine in Art and Design and a seven in Maths.
Moving up to the Sixth Form, the Class of 2026 has done us proud with their A-Level achievements. Daisy led with an outstanding A*A*A, earning top marks in Art and Design and Photography, closely followed by Tibbie, who secured A*AA with an A* in Business and As in Economics and Mathematics. Alvaan achieved AAB including As in Psychology and PE, while Rian secured ABB with an A in Economics, proving that hard work defines every single journey.
Our International Baccalaureate students also impressed with an average diploma score of thirty-one points, comfortably surpassing the global average and matching one hundred and forty-four UCAS tariff points. An exceptional thirty-three percent of all grades reached the top six or seven level. Lucie claimed the highest individual score with a brilliant thirty-seven points.
These results are tribute to our students’ unwavering hard work and active engagement with our academic support systems. Whether making the most of dedicated access time, revision sessions, or utilising library resources, our students have shown great drive. This success is also a shared victory, made possible by the round-the-clock support of our entire community, from our dedicated academic teachers to our attentive boarding staff, who nurture and guide every individual every step of the way.
As we watch our graduated Upper Sixth students head off to top universities across the UK and internationally, we wish them the very best in their exciting next chapters. Meanwhile, our GCSE students are now starting to take on the Sixth Form to the very best of their abilities, fully prepared to follow proudly in the footsteps of other successful Buckswoodians.
