BHS

Buckswood Health Service

The Health Team at Buckswood consists of a School Nurse who is supported by Health Care Assistants and an Administrator. Our aim is to promote the health and wellbeing of our young people, ensuring they reach adulthood ready and resilient both physically and psychologically. We are privileged to develop lasting relationships with our pupils that supports them to make informed decisions regarding their own health themselves. We are a safe environment for our pupils to thrive moving forward.

We also:

  • Promote Healthy Lifestyles
  • Support our Young People with Additional Needs
  • Keep our Young People Safe and Well
  • Help our Young People make Transitions

We liaise and refer as necessary with outside agencies, such as NHS, Opticians, Dentists, GP’s, to ensure your child gets the best care available.

For any appointments that are not covered through the NHS and may require additional fees we will get consent prior to arranging. Our young people who are 14 + may be considered competent to give their own consent under the Fraser Guidelines: https://learning.nspcc.org.uk/child-protection-system/gillick-competence-fraser-guidelines

Prior to your child commencing Buckswood School please complete both the Medical and Medication Information and Consent forms online.
