World AIDS Day

Each year, on December 1st, Buckswood joins the global community in observing World AIDS Day, reinforcing its commitment to raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. This important day serves as both an educational and humanitarian opportunity for our students to understand the impact of the disease, dispel myths, and show solidarity with those affected.

In addition to educational sessions, we organise awareness campaigns aimed at reaching the broader community. Students actively engage in creating and sharing informative materials, both within the school and in communities, especially in Eswatini, to promote awareness and encourage conversations around HIV/AIDS.

Our efforts also extend to fundraising initiatives. Each year, students and staff collaborate on various events, from charity drives to sponsored activities, with all proceeds directed towards organisations that provide critical support services for people living with HIV/AIDS and contribute to ongoing research for a cure.

By participating in World AIDS Day, Buckswood instills in its students a sense of global responsibility, compassion, and the drive to make a positive impact, reinforcing our school’s values of awareness, action, and advocacy.
