The Xchange – Student Council

The Student Xchange is Buckswood’s Student council which provides a representative structure through which students can discuss issues through a structured partnership and undertake initiatives that benefit the school and the wider community.

Students have a voice and a contribution to make to their school and as the title of the committee suggests – it is an exchange of ideas between the students and the school management. A Student Council should not through its activities interfere with, or detract from, the authority of school management or the teaching staff of the school but should be able, through a positive approach, suggest improvements and take on projects for the school management that will enhance the student experience and ensure that there is a sense of ownership to change within the school.

The agenda and proposed outcomes should reflect the continuing needs and advancement of the school, and through its existence reflect on the school’s educational ethos.
