The Great British Beach Clean
In a bid to promote marine environment awareness and conservation students from our IB and A-Level biology classes recently embarked on a beach clean-up initiative. Armed with gloves and bags, our young eco-warriors scoured the coastline, and what they discovered was eye-opening.
A staggering 4.6 kilograms of rubbish was collected during the clean-up in over 150m stretch of beach, revealing the extent of litter pollution plaguing our beautiful beaches. From plastic bottles to discarded wrappers, the variety of debris served as a stark reminder of the urgent need for environmental stewardship.
Despite the sobering reality of the situation, our students demonstrated commendable enthusiasm and dedication throughout the clean-up process. Their hands-on experience not only highlighted the importance of preserving our marine ecosystems but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards sustainable practices.
Through initiatives like these, we aim to empower our students to become proactive agents of change in safeguarding our planet’s future. Together, we can make a difference, one beach clean-up at a time.
Join us in applauding the efforts of our students as they continue to inspire positive environmental action within our community.
