The UK Government has updated the National Minimum Boarding Standards (the rules by which a Boarding School must operate) with an increased focus on safeguarding and wellbeing of boarders. One important update to these regulations is in relation to guardians and is based around the safeguarding of children and young adults when in the care of a guardian in the UK. The particular standard (22.3) requires that the school takes ‘appropriate steps to ensure that the guardianship arrangement is promoting the welfare, physical wellbeing and emotional wellbeing of the boarder.

This form allows us to check with you, the parent, that you are happy your child’s guardian is an appropriate person, who promotes your child’s welfare, physical wellbeing and emotional wellbeing. We require all families of Buckswood boarders to complete this form. It will only take a couple of minutes of your time.

*Please note that if we have further questions, someone from school will be in contact with you.
