May 15, 2019 4:11 pm

On Wednesday afternoon, the Buckswood Pipe Band were invited to play at the Azur on Hastings seafront for The Chairmans Business and Community Lunch Club.

Lord Brett McLean invited the band to play to welcome the guests and to end the event in Buckswood style!

The event was full of local businesses networking and giving demonstrations of what they offer, including one minute presentations around the table before lunch.

“The whole band really enjoy attending local events and workshops outside of school, this was a great opportunity to play and network with some really interesting businesses” added Mr Curd, Bagpipe Teacher at Buckswood.

Many of the guests complimented the band, commenting on their talent, uniform and the uniqueness they brought to the event. With most of them wanting to take pictures with the whole ensemble.

“A big thank you to Buckswood School Band for their excellent performance on the balcony” added Lord Brett McLean, Business and Community Leader in Hastings.

The band brought some smaller drums and sticks with them, letting guests have their own taster of being in a pipe band, except for the kilts of course!

The band are looking forward to playing similar events through summer.
