Buckswood participates in Golf Charity Day

June 17, 2019 11:31 am

Buckswood entered a team and sponsored the 10th Tee to raise money for the project ‘Help Buy a CT Scanner for Conquest Hospital’.

Buckswood’s team of established golfers featured Sussex U16’s golfer Andrew Jones, Keito Sugata and Luca Schultz and Golf Director Mr. Fitchett. The event used Texas scramble which means they played the best placed ball. The front 9 Buckswood performed really well scoring pars and Birdies.

“The back 9 brought a little frustration with us scoring 4 pars which easily could have been birdies. Any normal golfer would be happy with a par, however its a credit to the boys drive to be the best.” Added Mr Fitchett.

Buckswood finished with a score of 65, finishing 5th overall. Seeing as the average for the student team was 15 in comparison to mid 30s the golfers put in a tremendous performance.

“However the day was less about the performance but the cause of the day. We would like to thank The Friends of the Conquest Hospital for hosting such an incredible day.” Added Mr Fitchett.

The golf day raised £1,500 and the charity as a whole £300,000.
