Being a boarding school means keeping children busy at weekends with sporting, cultural and social events such as day trips to London on the 'Buckswood Express' or to Brighton or even Canterbury as well as theatre trips to both local plays and spectacular musicals in London's West end. We offer a packed, fun- filled programme to boarders, but with structure and supervision. Buckswood boarders are never bored. Children are given the chance to try a variety of exciting outdoor activities such as paintball, archery, quad biking riding, mountain biking, and even flying!
Flying at Buckswood
Majaha and Rene are taking flying lessons, and we are looking forward to obtaining a private pilots license by the end of this academic year.
Having this license, we can hire aircraft anywhere in Europe. Since the Front Field is not big enough, we go to Lydd airport, situated 20 Miles East of Buckswood, twice a week.
Recently they closed the bridge on the A259 East of Rye, making a 20 minute detour necessary. Last Sunday it was extremely foggy, and we had to wait two hours until the visibility was good enough to get airborne. We even passed Buckswood twice, and ran all over the cross country course in 10 seconds.
We are Flying a Piper PA28, which has 4 seats and one engine. It may need some rearrangement . . . Rene.
