Scholarships and Bursary

Buckswood School is keen to encourage those students who excel and can flourish within our environment as well as help to encourage others in their field of expertise.

Applicants are required to complete an English and Maths paper, and an interview with the Head Teacher. One scholarship of 75% is awarded per year, with awards of lesser 'amounts' subject to the performances on the day, up to 50%.

The scholarship will be reviewed annually and if the student does not maintain an effort average below 2.2, based on three terms’ work, the school reserves the right to withdraw the award. Effort grades (1–5 descending) are issued alongside achievement grades (A–E) at the end of the official assessment weeks (noted in the School Calendar), which take place roughly every 4–5 weeks, depending on the term’s length.

BURSARIES
Buckswood School has a bursary fund that has been allocated for those local UK students who would benefit from a Buckswood education, but who may require some financial assistance. In order for an application to be considered the following information should be provided:

  • The Bursary Application
  • A covering letter stating the reasons for applying
  • Copies of supporting financial documentation as required
  • Most recent school report for your child

The Bursary Committee meets once a month, so a written offer will be sent to applicants during the first week of the following month. The Bursary will be reviewed annually and if the student does not maintain an effort average below 2.2 (top mark being 1.0), based on three terms’ work, the school reserves the right to withdraw the award.

Effort grades (1–5 descending) are issued alongside Achievement grades (A–E) at the end of the official assessment weeks (noted in the School Calendar), which take place roughly every 4–5 weeks depending on the term’s length.
