What are Open Mornings?
An open morning at Buckswood School is a great opportunity for you, the parent, to come and find out about what happens behind the school gates. For starters, the school is a lot bigger then it may seem from the front and there is plenty to see behind the school – including our brand new full size astro-turf and our horse riding stables; just to name a few sights.

As parents you will discover that although Buckswood is a traditional private school, it is still affordable. Attending one of our open mornings is a great opportunity to find out just how much Buckswood is willing to invest in each child.

What happens during the Open Morning?
After having some coffee in a our brand new cafe, TJ's, Mr. Mark Redsell, Headmaster, welcomes all guests to the school and gives a short introduction to Buckswood School. Our senior students are then on hand to show you around the school – so you really don't have to take our word for it. It is a great opportunity for you 'as a parent' to ask current students what Buckswood is really like. Teachers will also be around so if you have any subject specific questions. The answers are just a question away.

After a walk around the school, there is another opportunity to refuel with coffee, tea and freshly-made cake. Mr. Cassidy, Head of the Junior School; then talks to guests about what life is really like at Buckswood School, from the quirky traditions to the structure of our day. Both Mr. Fish and Mr. Cassidy are on hand to answer any questions parents may have and will always welcome parents for a more private chat to discuss how Buckswood can help make private education affordable.

Who can come to an Open Morning?
We have nothing to hide at the school and are proud of every aspect of our school, so please bring family members and friends. Investing in private education does not just affect the student; it is a family decision. It is therefore important for the family to come and find out who and what Buckswood School is.

What happens after an Open Morning?
The next step after an Open Morning is to arrange a taster day for your child. This is designed so that each child can make up their own mind and not just listen to what they are told. During the day they will be assigned a 'shadow' (a student their age) who will show them around the school and answer any questions they may have. Your child will get the full Buckswood experience from lining up outside the dinning hall, to meeting people from around the world.

Saturday 19th November Open Morning with Scholarship Sitting.
Saturday 21st January Open Morning. Saturday 3rd March Open Morning.
Saturday 5th May Open Morning. Saturday 16th June Open Afternoon with Sports Day.

Visits to tour the school and meet the head staff and pupils can be arranged at any time.
