On Wednesday 11th February a delegation from Buckswood travelled to Bournemouth to visit JP Morgan’s UK Headquarters. JP Morgan & Chase is one of the world’s largest investment banks – with assets of over £2 trillion & employing over 200,000 staff.
The fifteen scholars on the trip were chosen to attend based on their excellent RSA results (each scholar in the lower sixth must complete an RSA essay every weekend during the Easter term, designed to enrich and further the individual overall thinking and education).
Scholars spent the day at JP Morgan attending team building classes with employees of the large investment bank. After the initial welcome we then moved onto practical sessions teaching scholars about the bank and the various job roles within the firm.
Throughout the trip scholars were given information about the upcoming possibly of a summer work placement at the prestigious firm. The afternoon came to a close with a full tour of the huge campus (over 4500 people work there!) before a light drinks reception in the main hall. This gave Buckswood scholars the opportunity to mix with JP Morgan staff – forming connections and getting valuable advice from the staff. This was a fantastic occasion for the scholars to gather as much knowledge as possible.
