As part of our plans to offer Buckswood students as wide a range of activities and sports as possible on our beautiful 30 acre campus, we have a Riding centre. The centre has stables, tack room and hayloft and a very impressive sand school or arena. We have 5 horses for both novice and more experienced riders.

Those students having riding instruction are also offered the chance to follow Equine Studies classes leading to the various levels of certification offered by the BHS.

BHS Stage 1 - Basic Stable Management & beginner riding

BHS Stage 2 - Road Safety & Stable Management

BHS Stage 3 - Jumping & Advanced Riding

As part of our riding programme students are encouraged to accept a certain responsibility in the welfare of the horses the ride, in terms of feeding, cleaning and grooming.

Equestrian Studies
Lessons available from experienced and qualified instructors. The Stables and Riding Centre is licensed with Rother District Council Insurance: Public liability for all riding activities

1 hour Individual lesson or hack £30
half-hour individual lesson £20
1 hour group lesson or hack £20

Restrictions: No child under the age of 10 years
