4. ACADEMIC UPDATES
Parents evenings are held in only the Christmas and Summer terms and assessments are two per term but perhaps mention formal examinations at Christmas and in the summer.
We send a weekly newsletter to all parents to keep them informed of current events. These are primarily designed to be included with the boarder’s letters home, but we send them home to day student’s parents as well.
All pupils are provided with their own lockable lockers. These are found around the school and you will be shown where to find yours. Please bring a padlock.
No rucksacks or plastic bags are to be used. School bags are available from Mr. Ledhsam. Please use your own sports bags.
Full and correct uniform should be worn at all times, including sports sessions. Top buttons and ties should be done up. Please name tag all uniform and day pupils are reminded that their uniform is their responsibility. The ‘Lost and Found’ box can be found in the Sports Office.
9. EVENING PICK UP
Pupils can be collected from their Prep room, after 5.00 pm. If you are going to be later than 6.15pm picking up, please let the office know. Students are welcome to stay to supper at 6.30 if necessary – no need for parents to rush back from that trip or meeting!
10. SIGNING OUT
Please remember at the end of the day (or if you have to take your child off site during the day) to sign out using the book in reception.
11. SLEEP OVERS
If you would like your child to sleep over or stay later after school, this is not a problem. Please do let the office know giving as much advance notice as possible. We do not make a charge for this but perhaps a present to the dorm (sweets, home made cakes etc) would be nice!?
A minimum of 40 minutes of prep per subject is set with usually 3 subjects per night. The first hour is silent prep with the Form Tutor, with the remaining time until 5.40 in their form room. Prep diaries are kept daily with teachers initialing work set.
If your child receives a detention then the school will notify you one day in advance. This will take place between 5.05pm – 6.30pm.
