The creative and expressive arts play a large part in Buckswood life with the Music & Art departments holding regular concerts, workshops, exhibitions and gallery evenings. Public performance or exhibition is held up as the target for all students. Private instrumental and voice tuition is available on a weekly basis.

Art & Design has become a very popular subject at GCSE and indeed as an after-school creative activity, resulting in three teaching rooms being used to deliver the extensive mixed-media programme. Music has always played a prominent part in Buckswood life and we are proud to boast our own bagpipe ensemble that performs twice weekly at assembly and at all school functions and high days in the calendar. Private bagpipe lessons are offered to all Buckswood students at no cost.
