Rebecca Hurton
Rebecca Hurton studied locally at Battle Abbey School for her A levels, in English, History, and Geography. She continued her studies at the University of Southampton completing a BSc (Hons) degree in Anthropology.
She then left University to go and apply the principles learnt in her degree by travelling to India for a year, teaching English, and working to integrate the Tibetan refugee community into the country.
On return to England she worked for two years as a Teaching Assistant at a local comprehensive school, completing training at the University of Sussex to be a Speech and Language Specialist. Not satisfied purely working in the special needs department she left to the University of Brighton to complete a PGCE (secondary) qualification specialising in Geography.
Rebecca started working at Buckswood School in September 2011 and teaches Geography at KS3 and 4 and World Development at A level.
Rebecca has a keen interest in global issues, and development, which she combines with her love for travel, aid work and teaching.
