School House
The School House itself is also a boys’ boarding house, as well as being Mr Sutton’s residence. As it is a very old house not designed as a boarding house, the rooms vary from singles for the seniors, up to 4 or 5 sharing for the youngest students (ages 11 to 13). It is a house with creaking staircases, low doors and many twists and turns but it has a unique atmosphere. It is also home to the most senior student in the school, Head of School.
Eleven of the most senior and longest serving female students live in the Rose and Apple Tree Cottages, situated at the heart of the campus, which also serves as the Matron’s home. Living here is one of the privileges enjoyed by our Upper 6th Form girls before they leave the school and head to university.
