Pentathlon

The Olympic sport of Modern Pentathlon comprises the contemporary sports of pistol shooting, fencing, and swimming, horse riding and running. At Buckswood we offer all of these disciplines on a regular basis with links between the school and the South East Pentathlon GB set up. We already have county swimmers and runners to add to our Horse Riding Centre, which make up the core of our Pentathlon Team.
Throughout the school year we enter our teams into the South East Regional Open and Schools Biathlon Championships in Medway and many individual events.
We are proud to also announce our link with Pentathlon GB; Gill Measures the South East Regional Development Officer is often in contact with Buckswood to ensure more and more students are encouraged to take part in the different events. Pentathlon GB have been an organisation that has been based at the school either putting on Pistol Shooting for our students or using our facilities for public events in Shooting and Fencing. This link between Buckswood School and Pentathlon GB is one to look out for the future; with regional coaches for each discipline visiting the school to coach our students!
