EFL - The Global Language

Integration Programme

Buckswood was originally founded as an English school in the early part of the 20th century, but since the 1980s has been recognised across the world as a centre for internationalism. We have students from all continents on one campus, a truly global community, living together and learning from one another. Integral to an international student’s programme is English as a Second Language.

All international students must achieve a minimum level of English Language fluency before entering the main school, and they will then continue to have ESL lessons and sit Cambridge International Examinations. It is possible to come to Buckswood to study an intensive English Language Programme from a month’s duration to a year within our ESL Department. An ESL student’s formal language work is complemented by regular study visits and multi-media learning.

Each Buckswood ESL student is rigorously coached & monitored with progress tested & reviewed on a weekly basis. Our expert staff place each ESL student on a personal study path, targeting certain Cambridge Examinations as benchmarks of progress. Buckswood is accredited by the British Council.
